Item 8.01. Other Events.
On June 29, 2011, Southern National Bancorp of Virginia, Inc., the holding company for Sonabank, issued a press release announcing that Sonabank has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase all deposits of approximately $46 million and certain assets of the Midlothian branch office of The Bank of Hampton Roads. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
