Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Election of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

On December 15, 2011, Michael L. Wilson, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (the “Bank”), advised the Bank that he would resign from the Bank effective January 27, 2012, to accept the position of President and Chief Executive Officer with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle effective January 30, 2012.

Mr. Wilson's resignation was submitted in accordance with the requirements of the employment agreement (the “Employment Agreement”) entered into by Mr. Wilson and the Bank. The Employment Agreement is filed as Exhibit 10.2 to the Bank's Current Report on Form 8-K dated November 15, 2011.
