On May 1, 2007, the board of directors of NewPage Holding Corporation and the board of directors of NewPage Corporation elected George J. Zahringer III to fill the open directorship position on their respective boards. Mr. Zahringer was also appointed to the compliance committee of each registrant. Mr. Zahringer is a senior managing director of Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. and has served in the Private Client Services Division of that company since 1979.
