Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On October 10, 2008, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (the "Bank") sent a letter to members eligible to vote in the Bank’s 2008 director election announcing that it will be conducting an election for three independent directors and explaining certain changes related to the director election process resulting from the enactment of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. Attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K is a copy of the letter.
