Item 1.01. Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
Extension of Blood Tubing Set Purchase Agreement with DaVita Inc.
On September 4, 2008, Medisystems Corporation (“Medisystems”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NxStage Medical, Inc. (“NxStage”), and DaVita Inc. (“DaVita”) agreed to extend their blood tubing set agreement, originally entered into on December 22, 2003 (the “Agreement”), for a period of one year, through September 21, 2009. During this extension, DaVita has agreed to continue to purchase the majority of its blood tubing set requirements from Medisystems, subject to certain terms and conditions.
