Item 2.06. Material Impairments
On July 10, 2012, Ridgewood Energy Q Fund, LLC (the “Fund”) was informed by the operator that the Falcon Project, an exploratory well, did not have commercially productive quantities of either gas or oil and has been determined to be an unsuccessful well, or dry hole. The Fund owns a 15% working interest in the Falcon Project.
As a result of the dry hole, the Fund incurred approximately $3.5 million of charges during the three and six months ended June 30, 2012, with total estimated dry-hole costs approximating $4.0 million. The Fund does not expect this dry hole to result in any significant additional expenditures.
