On January 26, 2009, GateHouse Media, Inc. (the “Company”) and The New York Times Company, parent of The Boston Globe and Boston.com, issued a joint press release, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference asExhibit 99.1, in connection with the settlement of the civil action (No. 1:08-cv-12114-WGY) between GateHouse Media Massachusetts I, Inc., d/b/a GateHouse Media New England and the Company (Plaintiffs) and The New York Times Company, Globe Newspaper Company, Inc., and Boston Globe Electronic Publishing, Inc., d/b/a Boston.com (Defendants). GateHouse Media Massachusetts I, Inc., d/b/a GateHouse Media New England is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company.
