Item 8.01. Other Events.
On March 26, 2013, BioFuel Energy Corp. issued a press release announcing that it had engaged Piper Jaffray & Co to act as its financial adviser to assist the Company in exploring certain strategic alternatives relating to the payment default by the Company’s operating subsidiaries under their senior secured credit facility. A copy of the press release is furnished (not filed) as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
