Erin Energy Corporation (the “Company”) is unable to file its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarterly period ended September 30, 2016 (the “Quarterly Report”) within the prescribed time period because the Company requires additional time to prepare and review certain information in its financial statements. The delay could not be eliminated without unreasonable effort or expense. In accordance with Rule 12b-25 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Company anticipates filing its Quarterly Report no later than five calendar days following the prescribed due date.

For the three months ended September 30, 2016, the Company expects to report a net loss of approximately $23.5 million, compared to a net loss of $58.7 million for the same period in 2015. The Company believes that the lower net loss will result primarily from lower depreciation, depletion and amortization (“DD&A”) expenses for the three months ended September 30, 2016 of approximately $18.9 million, as compared to approximately $43.3 million for the same period in 2015.
