Explanation of Responses:

1. Dr. Schwieterman was awarded options to purchase OXiGENE, Inc. common stock, $0.01 par value per share (the "Stock Options"), pursuant to the OXiGENE, Inc. 2015 Equity Incentive Plan in connection with his service as President and Chief Executive Officer. The original Form 4 filed on March 23, 2016 (the "Original Form 4") is amended by this Form 4 amendment to correctly reflect the number of Stock Options granted and the number of derivative securities beneficially owned following the reported transaction. No other changes have been made to the Original Form 4.

2. 25% of the Stock Options will vest on the first anniversary of the date of grant, and the remainder will vest in 36 substantially equal monthly installments beginning one year and one month after the grant date.
