ITEM 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Thomas R. Savage, Senior Vice President-Corporate Development, has informed Briggs & Stratton Corporation (the "Company") of his intention to retire from the Company prior to December 31, 2014, and on October 30, 2013 the Company delivered a notice to Mr. Savage that the Company has elected not to renew the employment agreement and change of control employment agreement between Mr. Savage and the Company each dated as of January 1, 2009 due to his planned retirement. Accordingly, Mr. Savage's employment agreement will not be extended beyond the current expiration date of January 1, 2015, and the change of control period defined in Mr. Savage's change of control employment agreement will not be further extended and therefore will expire on the earlier of Mr. Savage's retirement date or January 1, 2016.
