Item 8.01 Other Events.

On February 21, 2013, GenSpera, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that the first patient has been treated in the Phase II clinical trial of its lead compound, G-202, in patients who have hepatocellular carcinoma. A copy of the press release is attached to this report as Exhibit 99.01.
