Explanation of Responses:

1. Shares were sold to cover tax liability on vesting RSA.

2. Includes 7,250 time-based restricted stock units (RSUs) pursuant to the Coastal Financial Corporation 2018 Omnibus Incentive Plan, 1,861 of which vest in three approximately equal annual installments; 2,605 of which vest in two approximately equal annual installments; and 2,784 of which vest in four approximately equal annual installments. Each restricted stock unit represents the right to receive one share of common stock upon vesting. Also includes 2,000 shares of restricted awards that vest in four approximately equal remaining annual installments.

3. Includes a correction to total shares outstanding - calculated and reported incorrectly on previous filing.
