Explanation of Responses:

1. The Board of Directors of the issuer approved accelerated vesting of the Reporting Person's restricted stock units that were otherwise scheduled to vest on May 15, 2020. On March 9, 2020, the restricted stock units were settled in cash based on the closing price on March 9, 2020 of $0.13.

2. Each time-based restricted stock unit granted under the Basic Energy Services, Inc. Non-Employee Director Incentive Plan is the economic equivalent of one share of the issuer's common stock and must be settled solely in cash, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $9.00 per such restricted stock unit.
