Summary of Accounting Policies Principles of Consolidation The consolidated financial statements include the accounts of the Company and its subsidiaries that are consolidated in conformity with U.S. GAAP. All intercompany amounts and transactions have been eliminated in consolidation. Cash and Cash Equivalents The Company considers all highly liquid investments purchased with an original maturity of three Concentration of Credit Risk The Company maintains the majority of its domestic cash in a few commercial banks in multiple operating and investment accounts. Balances on deposit are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) up to specified limits. Balances in excess of FDIC limits are uninsured. The Company maintains an allowance for credit losses, which represents an estimate of expected losses over the remaining contractual life of its receivables considering current market conditions and estimates for supportable forecasts when appropriate. The estimate of expected credit losses considers a historical loss experience rate that is adjusted for delinquency trends, collection experience, and/or economic risk where appropriate based on current market conditions. Additionally, management develops a specific allowance for trade receivables known to have a high risk of expected future credit loss. The Company has historically experienced immaterial write-offs given the nature of the customers that receive credit. In addition, the Company holds various credit insurance plans that cover the risk of loss up to specified amounts on certain trade receivables.
