Item 8.01 – Other Events.
As previously reported, on December 13, 2017, Eleven Biotherapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) received written notice from The Nasdaq Stock Market, LLC ("Nasdaq") notifying the Company that it was not in compliance with the requirement of Nasdaq Listing Rule 5450(a)(1) for continued listing on the Nasdaq Global Market as a result of the closing bid price of the Company's common stock being below $1.00 per share for 30 consecutive business days. In accordance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5810(c)(3)(A), the Company had 180 calendar days, or until June 11, 2018, to regain compliance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5450(a)(1). To regain compliance, the closing bid price of the Company's common stock was required to be at least $1.00 per share for a minimum of 10 consecutive business days.
On March 21, 2018, the Company received written notice from Nasdaq notifying the Company that that the closing bid price for the Company's common stock had been at $1.00 per share or greater for a minimum of 10 consecutive business days and, accordingly, the Company had regained compliance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5450(a)(1) and that the matter was now closed.
