Item 8.01. Other Events.
On May 9, 2019, Kinder Morgan Canada Limited (“KML”), in which Kinder Morgan, Inc. (“KMI”) owns a 70% interest, announced that its board of directors has concluded its previously announced strategic review of KML with a determination that the current best course of action for KML and its shareholders is for KML to remain a stand-alone public entity, noting that the determination was made taking into account and consistent with the recommendation of a special committee of independent directors not affiliated with KMI. KML also announced a webcast and conference call at 9 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on May 10, 2019, to discuss the announcement.
