1. These securities are deferred restricted common unit awards granted under The Carlyle Group L.P. 2012 Equity Incentive Plan. These securities will vest on May 1, 2017, subject to Dr. Robertson's continued service on the board of directors of Carlyle Group Management L.L.C., the general partner of The Carlyle Group L.P., on such vesting date.
