1. The royalty trust units (the "Royalty Trust Units") of Gulf Coast Ultra Deep Royalty Trust, a Delaware statutory trust, are held by certain funds and managed accounts affiliated with Mount Kellett Capital Management LP, a Delaware limited partnership (the "Reporting Person").

2. The Reporting Person's interest in the Royalty Trust Units reported herein is limited to its pecuniary interest, if any, in such Royalty Trust Units.
