Subject Line: Pivotal enters into a definitive agreement to be acquired by VMware
Hi Gang -
Earlier today, Pivotal entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by VMware and frankly we are really excited about it!
Enterprises want to realize business value from some of today’s most strategic IT trends like hybrid and multi-cloud, Platform Ops/DevOps, and containerization, to name a few. The combination of Pivotal’s developer platform and services, with VMware’s expertise in infrastructure and operations, offers a comprehensive portfolio to help them do that.
Pivotal and VMWare have worked together for the past six years to transform how the world builds software, and in many cases, combined forces to support our customers’ efforts. We’ve helped our customers achieve amazing business outcomes with a proven technology stack.
Stay tuned for a comprehensive overview at VMworld next week in San Francisco. If you are attending, we’ll have executives from Pivotal and VMware standing by to discuss this news with you in greater detail and are happy to set up some time via phone if you are not attending.
