Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement
On July 6, 2021, Avanos Medical, Inc. (the “Company”) entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (the “DPA”) with the United States Department of Justice (“DOJ”) that resolves the DOJ’s criminal investigation related to the Company’s MicroCool surgical gowns, which the Company previously disclosed. Pursuant to the DPA, the Company will make a total monetary payment of $22.2 million, which was fully accrued by the quarter ended March 31, 2021.
