Explanation of Responses:

1. Restricted stock units are payable in Southern Company common stock and vest 1/3 per year on the first, second and third anniversary of grant date. Additional units will be acquired with deemed dividends. Shares will be withheld upon vesting to satisfy tax requirements. The grant was approved by the Compensation and Talent Development Committee on January 31, 2024 and fixed and determinable on February 6, 2024.
