Basis of Accounting, Policy [Policy Text Block]	Nature of Operations The accompanying consolidated financial statements include the accounts of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Inc., a Delaware corporation, its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Inc., a Colorado corporation (“RMCF”), Aspen Leaf Yogurt, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“ALY”), and U-Swirl International, Inc., a Nevada corporation (“U-Swirl”), and its 46% February 29, 2016 The Company is an international franchisor, confectionery manufacturer and retail operator. The consolidated financial statements have been prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (GAAP) for interim financial reporting and Securities and Exchange Commission regulations. Certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP have been condensed or omitted pursuant to such rules and regulations.
