Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
(b) On March 26, 2021, Ari Brettman, M.D., notified ESSA Pharma Inc. (the “Company”) of his decision to resign from the Company’s Board of Directors, effective immediately, in order to assume more responsibilities in his role as Managing Director of Blackstone’s Life Science Group.
Mr. Brettman’s resignation was not the result of any disagreement regarding any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies, or practices.

On March 26, 2021, the Company issued a press release relating to the matters described in Item 5.02 of this Current Report on Form 8-K. A copy of this press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
