Item 5.02 Departure of Director or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On October 18, 2019, the Board of Directors of National Western Life Insurance Company (“NWLIC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Western Life Group, Inc. (“NWLGI”), appointed Rey Perez to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer effective January 1, 2020. Mr. Perez will succeed Kitty K. Nelson, who will remain a director of NWLIC.
Mr. Perez joined NWLIC in September of 2000 and has held various positions with the Company, most recently serving in the capacity of Executive Vice President - Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Perez also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of NWLIC.
