Dear Madam,
In accordance with articles 9 and 10 under Chilean Securities Market Law N° 18,045, and as established under Chilean General Norm N°30 of the Financial Market Commission (“CMF” in Spanish), and as duly authorized on behalf of ENEL CHILE S.A. (“Enel Chile”, or the “Company”), I hereby inform you of the following significant event:
The Company's Board of Directors has learned about the Significant Event issued by its subsidiary Enel Generación Chile S.A., in relation to a commercial agreement with Shell Global Energy Limited, Singapore Branch, which has the purpose of certain contractual modifications between the parties and in the contracts signed by third parties at their request, including, among others, the partial disposal of certain LNG volumes, which are projected as surplus considering the commitments already acquired by Enel Generación Chile S.A.
As reported by our subsidiary, as of this date, some of the corporate authorizations of the parties involved are pending, which are expected to be obtained in December this year.
The transaction is expected to have a positive impact on Enel Chile's income before taxes and non-controlling interests of USD 500 million approximately.
