Item 8.01. Other events
On November 1, 2016, Alcoa Corporation, formerly known as Alcoa Upstream Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the completion of the separation of Alcoa Inc. (“Parent”) into two independent, publicly traded companies (the “Separation”). The Company is now an independent public company and its common stock is listed under the symbol “AA” on the New York Stock Exchange. In connection with the Separation, Parent changed its name to Arconic Inc.
A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
