Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On February 10, 2021, Brighthouse Financial, Inc. (“Brighthouse Financial” or the “Company”) issued (i) a news release announcing its results for the quarter and full year ended December 31, 2020, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference, and (ii) a Financial Supplement for the quarter ended December 31, 2020, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.3 and is incorporated herein by reference.

In connection with its earnings call for the quarter and full year ended December 31, 2020, Brighthouse Financial has prepared a presentation for use with investors and other members of the investment community. Item 8.01. Other Events.
On February 10, 2021, Brighthouse Financial issued a news release announcing that it has authorized the repurchase of up to $200 million of Brighthouse Financial common stock. This stock repurchase program is in addition to the $500 million stock repurchase authorization the Company announced in February 2020, under which $53 million remains as of February 9, 2021. Repurchases under the stock repurchase program may be made through open market purchases, including pursuant to 10b5-1 plans or pursuant to accelerated stock repurchase plans, or through privately negotiated transactions, from time to time at management's discretion in accordance with applicable legal requirements. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.2 and is incorporated herein by reference.
