SUPPLEMENT TO CAROLINA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY
2010 ANNUAL MEETING MATERIAL
Frank Schiller resigned from Carolina Power & Light Company’s (the “Company”) Board of Directors, effective April 2, 2010. Mr. Schiller was listed as a nominee to the Company’s Board in the proxy statement and on the corresponding proxy card you received on or about March 31, 2010. Please disregard Mr. Schiller’s name as you complete your proxy card. Any votes in favor of Mr. Schiller will be disregarded for purposes of the election of directors. At the current time, Mr. Schiller's position on the board of directors will remain vacant. The Board of Directors will evaluate the board composition and will consider candidates as necessary to fill the Board vacancy in due course.
