Explanation of Responses:

1. Each Restricted Stock Unit ("RSU") represents a contingent right to receive one share of common stock of Sunnova Energy International Inc ("Common Stock").

2. The Reporting Person's trust holdings include 11,241 shares of Common Stock previously held directly which were distributed to the Trust and are now owned indirectly.

3. The RSUs will vest on the one year anniversary of the date of grant subject to the reporting person's continued service through that date. Common Stock will be delivered to the reporting person no later than 15 days after the RSUs vest.
