Forge Email to Employees
Dear team,
We talk a lot at Forge about building a private market that will accelerate the destiny of all who participate. But today is our day.
Today I’m sharing with you that we’ve entered into an agreement to go public via SPAC merger with Motive Capital Corp. The closing of the business combination is subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval of Motive’s shareholders.
This move is a strategic one for the business, as we considered many options and alternatives from many interested parties in making this choice. I’m personally thrilled about what I believe this means for our ability to do the disruptive things we have all been working so hard to do. Following the closing, we’ll have more resources, more capital and more support from a world-class partner. We believe that this will mean we can get our feet in more doors more easily and make the kind of waves that will allow us to continue to outshine our competitors.
But I’m also so excited about what this means for you – the employees who got us to this moment. It means we’ll have the resources to better support your goals and ambitions, and more career opportunities to make this a place you can grow into the future. We’ll be adding new disciplines, such as investor and analyst relations and government affairs and more. And our goal is to put in place the resources to pursue and accelerate those advancements that will make Forge the provider of choice to everyone who wants to engage in the private market – which we hope will open new opportunities and provide strategic advantages for all of you whether you’re in engineering or sales or finance or beyond.
This move was a chance for Forge to seize our destiny. But to be successful and to take advantage of this moment, we can’t lose ourselves. It’s the culture that we’ve created here, the bold, accountable and humble values that we live every day that have gotten us to this point. And even as we grow into this next phase, we will honor and protect our culture so that we preserve what’s special about Forge.
I know many of you will have questions about what this deal means and what might change. I won’t be able to answer all of those today but know that I am committed to being transparent and open with all of you as we move through this journey together. In coming weeks, we’ll be providing resources, lunch and learn sessions and offering 1:1s to explain what happens and what to expect as we move through this process to becoming a public company.
I’ll be hosting a live Q&A at 9:15am PT / 12:15am ET today at this link. In the meantime, you can review our Employee FAQ and submit any and all questions here, and we’ll compile and work to address as many as we can. Your executive team can also help address any urgent questions that may come up.
I look forward to seeing you today and talking about and celebrating this news with all of you. Thank you for helping us get here, your continued contribution to our success, and for taking this leap with us.
Forge ahead,
Kelly
