Explanation of Responses:

1. Represents 7,000 restricted stock units pursuant to the 2018 Coastal Financial Corporation Omnibus Incentive Plan which vest in three approximately equal installments.

2. Represents 53,000 performance-based restricted stock units pursuant to the Coastal Financial Corporation 2018 Omnibus Incentive Plan. A maximum of 53,000 shares vest on June 1, 2028 the quantity of which is dependent upon achievement of specified performance goals.

3. Includes 7,000 time-based restricted stock units (RSUs) pursuant to the Coastal Financial Corporation 2018 Omnibus Incentive Plan, which vest in three approximately equal annual installments. Also includes 53,000 shares of performance-based restricted stock units that vest on June 1, 2028, the quantity of which is dependent upon achievement of specified performance goals. Each restricted stock unit represents the right to receive one share of common stock upon vesting.
