Explanation of Responses:

1. Mr. Maue exercised 28,398 stock options, priced at $58.47 and due to expire 01/26/2025, at a market price of $95.49. The resulting after-tax gain was taken in the form of 5,907 shares of Crane Co. Common Stock, resulting in a net increase in Mr. Maue's direct holding by that amount, to 81,256 shares. Mr. Maue tendered 17,389 shares of previously owned stock to pay the exercise price of the option, and 5,102 shares were withheld to pay taxes on the resulting gain.

2. As a result of calculation errors by the issuer's equity award administrator, the reporting person filed a Form 4 on June 1, 2021 which inadvertently reported an incorrect number of shares of the issuer's common stock withheld to pay taxes and, accordingly, an incorrect number of shares of the issuer's common stock beneficially owned following the reported withholding transaction. This Form 4 is filed solely for the purpose of correcting the administrator's calculation errors.
