Item 8.01. Other Events.
On December 21, 2005, La Quinta Corporation (“LQ Corporation”), the sole holder of voting common stock of La Quinta Properties, Inc. (“LQ Properties”), filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a definitive proxy statement on Schedule 14A (the “Proxy Statement”) with respect to the solicitation of proxies for a special meeting of the stockholders of LQ Corporation to be held on January 23, 2006. The Proxy Statement includes information regarding the special meeting of the stockholders of LQ Properties to be held on January 23, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., Central Standard Time, at the La Quinta Inn & Suites D/FW Airport South, 4105 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062.
A copy of the Proxy Statement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
