On August 17, 2000, Tellabs, Inc. announced that Michael J. Birck has been named chairman of the board of directors of Tellabs, Inc., effective September 18, 2000. Effective that same date, Richard C. Notebaert will become president and chief executive officer of Tellabs, Inc. Further details are contained in the press release of Tellabs, Inc., dated August 17, 2000, attached hereto as Exhibit 99 and incorporated herein by reference.
