Item 5.02Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
(b) On September 26, 2006, Bob Evans Farms, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a news release announcing with great sadness the passing of its Chairman and longtime director, Mr. Robert E.H. Rabold. Mr. Rabold, age 67, died of natural causes on September 25, 2006. Mr. Rabold served on the Company’s Audit and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees and as Chair of the Compensation Committee. The Company’s board of directors will be meeting as soon as possible in a special session to appoint Mr. Rabold’s successor as Chairman. A copy of the news release is attached as Exhibit 99 to this Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
