ITEM 8.01. OTHER EVENTS.
On November 12, 2007, Liz Claiborne, Inc. (the "Company") announced that its Board of Directors extended the Company's previously announced program to purchase its Common Stock by authorizing the purchase, from time to time and as market and business conditions warrant, of up to an additional $100 million of its Common Stock for cash in open market purchases and privately negotiated transactions. The total amount authorized under the Company's program since inception of the program is $2.275 billion. A copy of the press release announcing this increase is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
