EDWARD L. HUTTON RETIRES FROM OMNICARE BOARD
Appointed Chairman Emeritus
COVINGTON, Ky., February 26, 2008 – Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE:OCR), one of the nation’s leading providers of pharmaceutical care for the elderly, today announced that Edward L. Hutton, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, has retired. Mr. Hutton has served as Chairman since 1981. In recognition of his past service to the Company, he has been appointed to the honorary post of Chairman Emeritus.
Joel F. Gemunder, Omnicare’s president and chief executive officer, said, “Ed has been a major contributor to Omnicare for more than 26 years. Ed’s guidance and oversight on our Board have been critical to the progress and development of Omnicare. His leadership has had an indelible and positive impact on the Company. On a personal level, Ed has been a wonderful mentor and counselor to me, and I am pleased his wisdom and insights will continue to be available to all of us as Chairman Emeritus.”
The Company noted that its Board is in the process of selecting a new Chairman and will make an announcement when a decision has been reached.
