On March 30, 2007, the Board of Directors of Friedman Industries, Incorporated (the “Company”) voted to increase the size of the board from nine to ten members and elected Joel Spira to fill the vacancy. In addition, Mr. Spira was appointed to serve on the Audit Committee and the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors. Mr. Spira will receive the customary compensation paid to the Company’s outside directors, which is currently $2,000 per quarter plus an additional $750 for each Audit Committee meeting attended.
Mr. Spira was a co-founder and shareholder of Weinstein Spira & Company, P.C., a certified public accounting firm founded in 1962.
