        Imperial Oil Limited (the "Company") submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission written certifications by each of the chief executive officer and the chief financial officer of the Company for purposes of 18 U.S.C. Section 1350, as adopted pursuant to Section 906 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, with respect to the Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2003.
