Item 8.01. Other Events.
On July 9, 2013, American International Group, Inc. (“AIG”) issued a press release announcing the receipt of a notice from the U.S. Treasury that the Financial Stability Oversight Council has made a final determination that AIG should be supervised by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System as a systemically important financial institution pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
