Item 8.01 Other Events.
On November 27, 2007, Anixter International Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release that announced a share repurchase program under which the Company may repurchase up to 1 million of its outstanding shares with the exact volume and timing dependent on market conditions. The Company noted that this program is in addition to all previously announced share repurchase programs that have been completed, including the one announced on November 2, 2007. The Company currently has approximately 36.4 million shares outstanding. For additional information, reference is made to the Company's press release, dated November 27, 2007, which is included as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
