On September 22, 2003, Great Plains Energy Incorporated (Great Plains Energy) announced Michael J. Chesser as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Great Plains Energy. William H. Downey was elected President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Great Plains Energy and President and Chief Executive Officer of Kansas City Power & Light Company.
