Unum Group completes junior subordinated notes offering
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (May 29, 2018) - Unum Group (NYSE:UNM) announced today that it has completed an offering of $300 million aggregate principal amount of junior subordinated notes due in 2058 with an annual coupon rate of 6.250 percent. The net proceeds of the offering are expected to be used to repay, redeem or repurchase $200 million aggregate principal amount of the company’s 7% Senior Notes due 2018, which have a maturity date of July 15, 2018, with the balance of the net proceeds to be used for general corporate purposes.
Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, UBS Securities LLC, Wells Fargo Securities, LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC were joint book-running managers.
