McMoRan Exploration Co. issued a press release, dated September 2, 2005, reporting on Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Coast operations following Hurricane Katrina (see exhibit 99.1) and also released a letter from the United States Coast Guard regarding the Main Pass Energy HubTM LNG project (see exhibit 99.2).
