On October 19, 2006, Thomas L. Mitchell, Vice President and Controller of Apache Corporation, announced that he plans to leave the company, effective November 3, 2006, to take a position as chief financial officer of Noble Corporation. Rebecca Hoyt, assistant controller of Apache, will be Apache’s chief accounting officer with her title to be Vice President and Controller. The press release announcing Mr. Mitchell’s resignation and Ms. Hoyt’s promotion is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
