1. This transaction was effected pursuant to a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted by the reporting person on November 8, 2017.

2. The reporting person's economic interest in Cigna securities also includes hypothetical shares of common stock, the value of which is tied directly to the value of Cigna stock. Under the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Table I excludes these hypothetical shares because they are settled in cash, rather than Cigna stock, upon separation from service.
