Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 12, 2017, the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Services Corporation declared a $.24 per share regular cash dividend for the fourth quarter of 2017. This compares to a $.24 per share regular cash dividend for the third quarter of 2017. The regular quarterly cash dividend will be paid on November 22, 2017 to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 3, 2017.
On October 12, 2017, the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Services Corporation authorized the repurchase of up to 100,000 shares of the Corporation’s $1.00 par value common stock at market prices in open market or privately negotiated transactions beginning October 16, 2017 and continuing through September 30, 2018.
