Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Principal Officers
Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (the “Company”) has announced that J. Michael Dodson submitted his resignation on October 20, 2005 as senior vice president of administration and chief financial officer effective December 7, 2005. Until his departure, Mr. Dodson will continue in his role as CFO and assist the Company in the selection of his replacement. The Company’s press release announcing this event is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
