Item 8.01 Other Events
On May 29, 2008, AmericanWest Bancorporation and AmericanWest Capital Trust IV, a statutory trust formed under the laws of the State of Delaware (the “Trust”), issued a press release announcing the filing of a registration statement related to the offering of up to $34.5 million aggregate liquidation amount of the Trust’s Capital Securities, representing preferred beneficial interests in the Trust for sale in an underwritten public offering. A copy of the press release relating to the announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1, the contents of which are incorporated by reference herein.
